I have this assignment for a journalism class, and so I want to write a feature story on found things. I would love to talk to anyone here about how they got into their findings, interesting experiences, and all that... or, if you have some imput on the story itself, i would love that also. post it here for conversation or email me at lauraefrank@gmail.com

thanks!

Well, for my part, I've always tended towards picking up stuff that people dropped, lost, threw away, and the like. Okay, so not always, but for at least the past 5 years or so. I'm more into the objects than the letters and the like, but I still like that sort of thing quite a bit. I've found everything from lamps to little toys. No stories that I find all that interesting, so I'll thankfully not take up a lot of room trying to share it here, but if you REALLY want more, just say the word.

When I find objects, I tend to think of them as a new art project for me to get around to some day. I'm quite the procrastinator, so I've got a lot of things just waiting for me to do something with them, but when I do....watch out! *giggle* I think that one of my most favorite finds, right now at least, is a little spaceman toy that I found in a flower plot while waiting for a Jungian semiar to start back up after the lunch break. There he was, slightly buried, his little feet sticking out, just waiting for me to unearth him. He's been in my glove compartment ever since. That was about two years ago.

I hope that that helps, even just the tiniest of bits.
